Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic acts as a proactive partner to the entire organization to forward on-time delivery, long-term sustainability and to make Clow Corona a premier place to work and do business. This is accomplished through providing high quality facility-wide operations, a safe workplace and collaborative accountability.

 

  • Sustainability –100% on-time safety and preventative maintenance checks on all machines and the facility.
  • Employee Experience – 100% response time to work orders is less than 1 hour.
  • Customer Experience – Critical machine up-time of 80%.

 

Responsibilities

  • Whatever It Takes (10%) – Fix and rework production parts for assembly.
  • Preventative Maintenance (30%) Provide a safe, productive environment by diligently and methodically performing all preventative maintenance and safety checks in a timely and thorough manner. Create a working document for the preventative maintenance program to ensure all standards are met and up to date for the entire facility.
  • Continuous Improvement (30%) Continually seek areas of improvement to create a safer more ergonomically friendly working environment for employees. Develop plans for continuous improvements, establish the budget as well as determine and communicate how projects will positively affect the company and employees. Implement plans as approved by leadership. Measure impact of improvement projects and compare to previous state of Clow. Communicate wins, losses and learning to all other facilities to support collaboration, interaction, teamwork and development in greater Clow Valve.
  • Equipment Repairs (30%) – Use various tools to repair equipment as quickly as possible to maintain 80% machine up time on critical machines. This includes mig/stick welding, plasma cutters, mill and lathes as well as driving a forklift. Thoroughly understanding requirements of all jobs in the Corona facility so that all equipment breakdowns can be corrected in a safe and acceptable manner.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years Maintenance experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Must successfully complete and pass Mechanical Aptitude test.
  • Know the characteristics and applications of the various lubricants used in the machine shop. Be able to read blueprints, drawings and machine manuals necessary to identify drain plugs, gauges, fill pipes, etc that relate to lubricants. Be able to perform routine lubrication required on a machines and equipment. Be able to recognize and report obvious need for machine or equipment repair. Be able to trouble shoot, repair and make adjustments on hand tools, small machines and equipment such as hammers, air wrenches, air grinders, etc. Be able to do basic electric welding. Be able to do minor plumbing repairs and installation such as floor drain, toilets, simple product test equipment, etc. Be able to operate forklifts and other motorized equipment commonly used in the machine shop. Experience with repairing and installing hydraulic equipment to include fixture cylinders, pump pressure, valves, joints and electrical equipment on forklifts and other motorized equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electric hand drills, fans, vacuums, heaters etc., able to make minor repairs or adjustments to gas heating or air conditioning units. Be able to operator standard machines and equipment, such as lathes, mills, drills etc., as required for troubleshooting, adjustments and repairs. Must show satisfactory progress during qualifying period towards completion for the required Maint. Mech. B TPC courses.
