The machinist is vital to sustainability and customer satisfaction by providing precise quality parts that meet and exceed customer expectations by transforming raw materials into world class life sustaining water products.
Starting rate of pay: $20.65/hr

1. Production (70%) – Review and understand prints to accurately set up the machines by selecting proper tooling and programming for each part. While setting up the machines, inspect the tooling to be used to verify all are in good condition; if noted otherwise, report results to the supervisor and replace worn tooling. Track change-outs in ongoing inventory to ensure future tooling availability. Take care in loading and loading parts into the fixtures to allow for accurate machining as well as employee safety. Effectively communicate with the shot blast and assembly departments to determine machining needs; communicate needs with fuse coat department so that machining needs can be met.
2. Maintenance (15%) – Perform safety inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to guarantee efficient and safe operations. Complete applicable paperwork associated with inspections, making note of any suspected or identified issues; promptly communicate the suspected or identified issues to the maintenance department and supervisor for timely repairs and continued internal customer satisfaction.
3. Quality (10%)- Perform meticulous in-process quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments and the application of general shop math to minimize scrap rates. Upon identifying a quality issue immediately investigate equipment tooling and programing, blue print specifications, raw materials, or any other factor which could be causing the quality issue. Promptly communicate issues upon identification to the maintenance department and supervisor as well as any findings on the root cause of the issue and work to quickly correct the issue.
4. Whatever It Takes (5%) – Support complete Clow success by responding to varying needs on the production floor with urgency and commitment to team productivity. Lend a hand to any critical task including, but not limited to lifting pipes, driving a forklift, pulling orders, cleaning the bathrooms, cleaning up, coming together as a team to build excess hydrants, etc.
