  • Overview

    Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the brass finishing operations.

    Responsibilities


    • Analyzes work schedules to estimate worker hours and meet internal needs.

    • Plans flow of materials through department.

    • Coordinates grinding safety training.

    • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.

    • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.

    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

    • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Such as grinding standards, method cards and their compliances.

    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

    • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

    • Maintains time and production records.

    • Insures departmental safety training of hourly employees and maintains safe working practices.

    • Conducts and documents monthly safety meetings.

    • Conducts and documents monthly safety inspections/audits.

    • Learns and follows the environmental management system as defined and require.

    • Responsible to suggest improvements to the environmental management system when and where appropriate.

    • Communications with customers on product improvements and concerns.

    • Completes other duties as required.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of supervisory experience OR Associate Degree with 2-3 years of supervisory experience is required.

    • Clow Valve product knowledge preferred but not required.

    • Experience in Microsoft Office specifically Excel experience is required.

      • Dynamics AX is preferred.



    • Proven analytical abilities.

    • Ability to multitask required.

    • Strong written and communication skills required.
