  • Overview

    The Metal Casting Facility Industrial Hygiene Technician assists in the creation of a premier place to work by promoting a safe work environment for Clow Valve, identifying and actively monitoring harmful exposure agents while providing solutions to eliminate health risks.

    1. Sustainability:
      • b. Maintain/update sampling and compliance plans quarterly.
      • a. Complete the yearly Industrial Hygiene plan by January 1st of following year.
    2. Employee Experience: Employee/management awareness meetings held on sampling report quarterly.
    3. Leadership: Attend 2 Continuing Education/Professional Development events a year.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Technical (50%): Diligently and actively identify/monitor harmful exposure agents, analyze and update results database. Thoroughly maintain exposure mapping, perform samplings, and assess chemicals through the chemical approval process. Research sampling methods and develop method processes for collecting difficult samples. Proactively research exposure agents, analyze results and provide solutions to eliminate active health risks. Coordinate 3rd party sampling audits, research and formulate solutions for exposures, and offer guidance on exposure limits/issues.
    • Administrative (40%): Accurately maintain sampling database, exposure control plans, and SDS records to ensure compliance. Develop trending reports for distribution to the organization for thorough exposure understanding. Actively review, audit, and maintain HSPs and work instructions for employee process understanding and provide support to EHS department members to assist in the completion of safety activities as needed.
    • Advisory (10%): Foster trusting relationships among the organization that instill an environment of personal well being and awareness of risk exposure. Create and deliver thorough department specific exposure agent training to ensure wide spread knowledge base, inform employees and management of exposure results, and industriously offer exposure agent guidance to Clow Valve.

    • Education & Experience:
      • High school diploma or GED required.  
      • 1-2 years experience within a Healty & Safety role preferred.
      • Associates of Science Degree preferred but not required.
